Po Po sayswhy we make this
“Pear is one of the few fruits Chinese tradition allows during the month, but only steamed, never raw. Eaten when the throat feels dry or after a particularly heavy ginger soup.”
Ingredients · 材料
At SeeWoo · Wing Yip
1 fruit
Asian pear (or Bartlett) 雪梨
Asian pear ideal; Bartlett works
3 thin slices
Old ginger 老姜
1 tbsp
Rock sugar 冰糖
1 tsp, optional
Goji berries 枸杞子
Method · 做法
1
Wash the pear; cut off the top to make a lid. Scoop out the core.
2
Fill the cavity with rock sugar, ginger, and goji. Replace the lid.
3
Place upright in a heatproof bowl. Steam over rapidly boiling water for 30 to 35 minutes until tender.
4
Eat with a spoon. The juice that pools in the bottom of the bowl is the best part.
