Black sesame seeds 黑芝麻

1 to 2 tbsp
Walnuts (raw, shelled) 核桃
toasted, optional

Rock sugar 冰糖
Method · 做法

Toast the sesame seeds in a dry pan for 2 to 3 minutes until fragrant. Cool briefly.

Blend the sesame, walnuts, and ½ cup of water until you have a smooth paste.

Bring 250ml of water (or warm milk, dairy or oat) to a gentle simmer.

Stir in the sesame paste and rock sugar. Whisk until silky.

Serve warm in a small bowl. Pre-ground black sesame powder is fine for convenience.
